A Rome man -- formerly a pastor in the Wesleyan Church in Rome -- has been sentenced after pleading guilty to federal child exploitation charges, according to the US Federal Court in Syracuse.

ROME, N.Y. -- A pastor from Rome was sentenced on Friday to three years in federal prison for possessing child pornography. James H. Swanson, 59, "admitted that between March 25, 2022, and March 28, 2022, he uploaded several videos of child pornography to a cloud storage account under his control," according to the U.S. Dept. of Justice.

James H. Swanson, 59, of Rome, was sentenced by Chief Judge Brenda K. Sannes on Friday to three years in prison, followed by 15 years of post-release supervision, on a charge of activities constituting child pornography.

Delta Air Lines announced it will begin direct flights from Minneapolis to Rome, Italy, in May 2025. The company said it is also adding several other new routes from U.S. hubs that include Catania, Sicily, Naples, Rome, Milan, Barcelona, Dublin and Brussels. There will also be increased service for other established European routes.
