The third LIV Golf season comes to an end this week at the Team Championship outside of Dallas, Texas. Jon Rahm, the captain of Legion XIII, has withdrawn from the event and his LIV season is over a few days early.

The LIV Golf League concludes its 2024 season by leaning into its team format, hosting the LIV Golf Team Championship at Maridoe Golf Club outside of Dallas. And to say the event is lucrative is, well, an understatement. A total of $50 million is on the line with the four-man team that wins on Sunday earning $14 million.

Jon Rahm has withdrawn from LIV Golf’s team championship. Ahead of its season finale in Dallas this weekend, LIV released a statement that the two-time major champ has pulled out of its event, citing flu-like symptoms.

The LIV Golf Team Championship gets underway Friday at Maridoe Golf Club outside of Dallas with 10 teams competing in the match play quarterfinals. Three teams, Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC, Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII and Cameron Smith’s Ripper GC, have quarterfinal byes and automatically advance to Saturday’s semifinals.

Despite his strong play throughout the year, Rahm and his Legion XIII teammates are looking up at Bryson DeChambeau and his Crushers, who serve as LIV Golf defending champions. Both the Crushers and Legion XIII have earned a bye in the quarterfinals -- as have the all-Australian squad Ripper GC -- ahead of a three-day affair filled with singles matches,

The top three seeded teams receive a first-round bye. Awaiting Friday’s winners will be No. 1 Crushers GC captained by SMU’s Bryson DeChambeau, No. 2 Legion XIII led by Jon Rahm and No. 3 Ripper GC captained by Cameron Smith.
