JSW MG Motor India has introduced its Battery-as-a-Service program for the Comet EV and ZS EV models, allowing customers to lease batteries instead of purchasing them. This reduces upfront costs and includes a 60 percent buyback value after three years.

MG Comet EV offers a certified range of 230 km on a single charge. The MG ZS EV, on the other hand, offers a 461 km claimed range with a larger 50.3 kWh battery pack.

After launching the new Windsor with an innovative BaaS (Battery as a Service) plan, MG has now extended the same to their other two EVs - Comet and ZS. The BaaS program allows customers to purchase the vehicles at a lower upfront cost and pay a fee for battery usage based on kilometres driven.

The auto firm said that under the BaaS program, customers can now bring home the MG Comet EV at a starting price of of Rs 4.99 lakh + battery rental at Rs 2.5/km, and MG ZS EV starting at Rs 13.99 lakh + battery rental at Rs 4.

Customers can also avail an assured 60% buyback value for the MG Comet EV and MG ZS EV after three years of ownership.
