Just days after PlayStation game God of War Ragnarok launched on PC to a ‘mixed’ Steam user review rating over its forced PlayStation Network account linking, a mod has been released that bypasses the requirement entirely.

Just days after its release, a new mod for the PC version of God of War Ragnarok successfully removes one of the game's most controversial features.

Like most PlayStation first-party games, God of War Ragnarök requires a PSN account. A fact that we've known about since the State of Play earlier this year, alongside a short blog post that mentions this in italics at the bottom of the page.

A mod has been released for the Steam version of God of War Ragnarok that removes the requirement to link a PSN account to play the game. Sony ‘s latest PC port, which was released this week, requires that players link an existing PSN account to their Steam account, or create a new one, in order to play.
